Yaana Movie Review {3.5/5} : A Memorable Journey!

Starring Vaibhavi, Vaisiri, and Vainidhi, Yaana is the latest film to hit the screens this weekend. Being directed by Vijayalakshmi Singh, this movie marks the debut of her three daughters in Sandalwood. With an impressive trailer and decent expectations surrounding the flick, let us now find out if the movie did manage to leave an impression on the audience.

The three real-life siblings play college students in this movie. With the baggage of current college lives, the three individuals come across each other when they suffer a similar emotional breakdown in the movie. They decide to leave the city and head towards Goa. This journey is the USP of this movie and going by the first impressions, this “Yaana” does entertain.

Not many coming-of-age tales are made in Sandalwood and hence, this flick offers a breath of fresh air to the audience. And most importantly, the content is extremely relatable to the current youth of the country. As the three girls go on to learn more about life, their attempt to take on the newer challenges of life with a renewed confidence will definitely make you root for them and also at some point, will make you think about yourself as well.

The debutantes have been given plum roles and although they require grooming, their first attempt at movies is sincere and commendable. Yaana boasts of an ensemble supporting cast with the likes of Anant Nag, Suhasini and Rangayana Raghu, all of whom have done a great job.

Music is good and the soothing BGM by Anoop Selin is impressive. Karm Chawla has done a decent job with the camera and the dialogues by Simple Suni are entertaining.

Overall, Yaana is a movie worth watching this weekend as unlike other Sandalwood flicks, this movie is different and impresses with its emotional content.
